All governors and board members who have not previously undertaken Child Protection training.

Description

This course will provide an overview of the legal requirements for safeguarding and child protection in schools and the role of the governing board as outlined in the statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education 2018.

This session will ensure that governors have an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the legal framework for safeguarding in education, the key elements of safeguarding the welfare of children and the particular responsibilities of governors.

  • What schools must have in place to safeguard children
  • The regulatory framework and implications for practice
  • The role of governors in ensuring the safety and protection of children
  • Key elements of a safer working culture

Audience
