A training exploring key areas required to complete Healthy Early Years (HEY) Award standards 2018

Description

This is a brief intervention training mandatory for all HEY leads in settings completing the HEY Award 2018 . This Award is designed to support settings in promoting healthy lifestyles. Training will cover all 7 areas included in the HEY Award criteria and will be covered by professionals leading on those areas in Brent. Recommendations on national and local guidance will be given with tips on meeting HEY criteria. This session is repeated at 18:30 on the 20th November 2018.

This training is free to representatives from Early Years Settings (Childminders, Children’s centres, PVIs, School nurseries) participating in the Healthy Early Years Award 2018/19. Therefore priority will be given to them.

Outcomes

To actively promote:
  • Healthy eating in setting
  • Physical exercise in setting
  • Good oral health in settings
  • The uptake of immunisations for children attending the setting
  • Breastfeeding and support available in Brent
  • Safety at home, health messages, accident prevention and reducing injuries
  • Emotional wellbeing of children and parents attending setting
