Providing both core and additional traded EPS support to schools

The Brent Educational Psychology Service delivers the statutory requirements on behalf of the Local Authority as set out in the SEND Code of Practice - providing specialist bespoke advice to schools, colleges and early years settings and tailors support to meet the needs of children and young people with special educational needs up to the age of 25 years.
The EPS prioritises the following to ensure these statutory requirements are met:
- Children and young people for whom the LA requests statutory psychological advice
- Children and young people with a statement /Education Health and Care Plan
- Children placed in out of Borough schools
- Attendance at SEND panels
- Participation in First Tier tribunals and other legal functions requiring formal SEN expertise
- Requests from the LA for the assessment of Looked After Children
- Children referred from Early years
- First day response to critical incidents
- Other LA directed work as required
